Plats:Computer History Museum, 1401 N Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View, CA 94043

Presented by the Silicon Vikings, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce San Francisco/Silicon Valley, the Innovation Center Denmark - Silicon Valley and K&L Gates

The Nordic region has become a bright spot amid the broader economic and political turmoil in Europe, much due to its hugely successful innovation system.
The member states rank at the very top or among the top ten countries in the world in terms of internet usage, higher education and R&D, productivity, ethical business conduct, IP protection, and quality of life. Examples of disruptive technology companies from the region include Skype, Spotify, MySQL, Rovio, Biotage, Novo Nordisk, Vestas, and Danfoss.
This symposium will cover technologies and business opportunities in the Nordic region -- when does it make sense for local Silicon Valley based companies to reach out to Scandinavia, what technologies and industries are most successful, how do you target local business partners, and what are the potential practical and legal issues involved. Our panelists are highly experienced and well-regarded executives, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, who have operated in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area for many years, but maintain close ties to Scandinavia.
