Mats Berggren

CEO

Mr. Mats Berggren is the CEO of SwedenBIO since June 2008. He has played an important role in establishing SwedenBIO since the start in 2003 both as Project Manger and later Vice President. Prior to joining SwedenBIO in May 2003, he served as management consultant at the Swedish Trade Council in Germany. During his time there he performed assignments for Swedish companies in Germany and Europe in a broad range of industry sectors including Life Science. At the Swedish Trade Council he was responsible for the bioscience industry group at the German office. In addition to an MSc in agronomy, completed in Uppsala and Bonn, he holds experience from the Swedish Office for Science and Technology (STATT) at the Swedish Embassy in Germany.

Karin Aase

Project Manager

PhD. Aase is Project Manager at SwedenBIO since September 2007. PhD. Aase defended her thesis on angiogenesis in 2001 at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Karolinska Institutet. Between 2001-2006 she was Post Doc and Research Assistant at Cancer Centre Karolinska. In 2007 she signed up SwedenBIO as Project Manager for the SME Life Science Support Office. She joined the SwedenBIO core team in September the same year.

Maria Kaaman

Project Manager

PhD. Maria Kaaman is Project Manager for PR & Communications since August 2009.
Maria Kaaman is Project Manager at SwedenBIO since May 2008. Previously she assisted the EU Support Office and the PR Support Office.
PhD. Kaaman defended her thesis in  December 2007 at the Department of Medicine, Lipidlaboratory, Karolinska Institutet.

Olof Nord

PhD. Olof Nord is Project Manager at SwedenBIO since August 2010.
Prior to joining SwedenBIO he was employed as Product Champion and Customer Solutions Coordinator at Becton Dickinson, working on an European and Nordic basis in Becton Dickinson’s Sales and Marketing organization. Additionally, he has held positions as Project Manager and Research Scientist at Affibody AB in Stockholm, a company which he also is a founder and owner of.
PhD. Nord defended his doctoral thesis at the Department of Biotechnology, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 2004 and he also has an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology.

Per Lindquist

Project Manager

PhD. Per Lindquist is Project Manager at SwedenBIO since July 2009. PhD. Lindquist defended his thesis on lipid metabolism in 2004 at the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Karolinska Institutet.
Before joining SwedenBIO he was employed as Research Scientist and Project Manager at Neuronova AB in Stockholm.  Additionally, PhD. Lindquist has held a position as Research Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D.
PhD. Lindquist is responsible for the SME Life Science EU Support Office, which is financed by the Swedish governmental agency VINNOVA.
